An anion exchange membrane cell is not only for water splitting. Our electrodes, cell hardware and stacks can be used for CO2 electrochemical conversion research. The cathode catalyst is the part that differs, so the supply boundary is worth settling first.

RIST used HydroXpand's 2 kW stack for direct electrochemical CO₂ conversion (CO₂RR). It falls under Power-to-Chemicals within the broader Power-to-X category and differs from e-methanol pathways that combine electrolytic hydrogen with CO₂ downstream.

From enquiry to delivery

Before you ask

Worth checking first

The cathode is yoursOur HXP-ca cathode is coated with Pt/C or PtRu/C for hydrogen evolution. It is not a CO2 reduction catalyst and we do not supply it for that purpose. Bring your own catalyst and gas diffusion electrode for the reduction side; we match the anode and the cell structure to it.
We have no CO2 performance dataEvery performance and durability figure we publish was measured under water electrolysis conditions. Current density, selectivity and lifetime in CO2 electrolysis are set by your catalyst and operating conditions, so they are not numbers we can warrant. We provide the hardware specification and the test conditions.
What to tell us firstSend the active area, cell count, flow-field design, whether the cathode is gas-fed or liquid-fed, and the membrane you intend to use, and we will set out a configuration. There is no minimum order quantity, so a single electrode sheet is a valid starting point.
